What makes “end grain” style butcher blocks so desirable?
End grain butcher blocks are crafted by flipping the grain twice, resulting in the fibers of the wood to stand vertically. When you slice into the board you are not severing the fibers, allowing the natural “self-healing” aspect of end grain to keep the butcher block looking new for longer!
Your knives will stay sharper; due to the vertical fibers of the wood, your knife impacts the board parallel with the fibers, putting less stress on the blade. With traditional cutting boards, the fibers run perpendicular to your knife.

You are unique to us and so is your product! We aren’t a factory or warehouse where we pull a premade product off the shelf. Once you place your order, then the process starts: we start with hand selecting the rough stock from local sources, milling, cutting, laminating all the way through to finishing your product and shipping it out. We’re a husband & wife team and handle every aspect of your order. Thank you for supporting our small business!
